Refund Policy
KiroClip Lite sells digital content that is delivered immediately. As a result, all sales are final. This policy explains exactly what a credit buys, the situations where credits come back on their own, and what happens if a payment is reversed.
Summary
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles billing and, where applicable, any refund or dispute on our behalf. Dodo Payments’ own buyer terms and statutory consumer rights always apply on top of this policy.
Money paid to us is not returned. Credits are a different matter: several situations return credits to your balance automatically, and those are set out in full in section 5.
How credits are charged
Most refund questions are really questions about what a credit bought. The rule in full, matching exactly what the app charges:
- 1 credit covers up to a set number of hours of source video, and 10 clips. Hours per credit by plan: Free 30 minutes, Lite 10 1 hour, Lite 30 2 hours, Lite 50 3 hours.
- credits = the larger of (hours ÷ hours-per-credit) and (clips ÷ 10), both rounded up, doubled for the over-90-second band. The ceiling is 100 clips per video on a paid plan.
- Your allowance is 10 clips per credit the length costs. On Lite 30, a two-hour video is 1 credit with 10 clips; a four-hour video is 2 credits with 20. Wanting more clips than that costs one credit per extra block of ten, exactly as before.
- We charge for the length we measure from your file, not the length your browser reported. If the measured video turns out longer, the difference is charged before processing starts; if your balance cannot cover it, the job is cancelled and everything you paid comes back.
- The 60-90 second and over 90 second clip-length bands are available on paid plans only. Only over 90 seconds doubles that video’s cost; 60-90 second clips cost the same as any shorter length. Example: 20 clips at over 90 seconds = 2 × 2 = 4 credits, while 20 clips at 60-90 seconds is 2 credits.
- On Free, a video is always 5 clips for the 1 free credit. The clip count is fixed at 5, that is also the hard ceiling, and the long clip-length bands are locked.
- Credits are taken up front the moment you start processing, and the exact number is shown on the start button before you press it.
- The free credit is granted once per person, at signup, and never renews. It is counted per mailbox rather than per account, so address variations that reach the same inbox count once, and deleting an account and registering again with the same mailbox does not produce a second one.
Subscription fees
Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started, and are not pro-rated. You may cancel at any time to stop future charges; your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Renewals follow the same rule: non-refundable once renewed.
On a yearly plan the billing period is the full twelve months, not a month. Cancelling part-way through a paid year stops the next renewal and does not refund or pro-rate the remainder; your access, and the monthly credit batches described below, continue to the end of those twelve months.
Credit expiry & top-ups
Each purchase or renewal grants its credits as its own batch with its own expiry. Plan credits expire about one month after they are granted; top-up credits, which any paid plan can buy, expire 30 days after purchase. Unused credits do not roll over past their date, and expired credits are not refunded or restored.
A yearly plan does not grant a year of credits in one go. Your plan’s full monthly allocation arrives as its own batch on the day you buy and again each month after that, twelve batches in total, and each batch expires about one month after the date it is due, exactly as on a monthly plan. A batch that reaches your account late still expires on its original date rather than gaining extra life. Paying for a year does not make the year’s credits into a single pool, and an expired batch is not refunded or restored.
When you hold more than one batch, credits are always spent soonest-to-expire first, so a batch cannot lapse while a longer-dated one is spent ahead of it. Top-up purchases are non-refundable once the transaction is confirmed by Dodo Payments.
Credits returned automatically
Some credits come back on their own. You do not need to ask, and you will see the balance change in-app.
Returned in full
- A job that fails on our side: processing, transcription, or render failures, and system errors while the job was running
- A job where the AI finds no usable moment in your source, so nothing is produced
- A job you cancel before it finishes, in which case any partial output is discarded rather than delivered
Returned in part, per block of ten
If you ordered more than 10 clips and the AI found fewer worthwhile moments than that, the difference comes back per started block of ten, not per clip. Order 20 and get 9: you are charged 1 credit and 1 is returned. Get 11, and you are still charged 2, because that second block was entered. Where the long-band multiplier applied to the charge, it applies to the return too, so a 4-credit job that comes back as a single block returns 2 credits. The calculation runs as soon as the AI has chosen the moments and before rendering starts, so the credits are back without you waiting out a render. The AI is not padded with weak moments to fill an order.
Not returned
- Jobs that completed but where you are not satisfied with the AI clip selection, reframing, or captions
- Settings you chose that led to output you didn't want
- A change of mind after a job ran
Non-refundable items
The following are explicitly non-refundable:
- Credits consumed by jobs that completed successfully
- Plan credits that expired on their own date (about one month after being granted)
- Top-up credits that expired (30 days after purchase)
- Remaining credits or subscription time after a cancellation, suspension, or termination
- The unused remainder of a yearly plan cancelled part-way through its twelve months
- Any amount paid in connection with a breach of our Terms
Refunds, reversals & clawback
Billing disputes & chargebacks
If you think you were charged in error, contact us before disputing the charge with your bank. We will look into it promptly and fairly.
Filing a chargeback without contacting us first is a breach of our Terms and may result in:
- Immediate account suspension
- Forfeiture of remaining credits and subscription time
- The matter being handled through Dodo Payments' dispute process
Cancelling
You can cancel any time via:
- Account → Billing → Cancel subscription, or
- The Dodo Payments customer portal linked from your receipt, or
- An email to support@kiroclip.com
After cancelling: your subscription will not renew, you keep access until the end of the current period, and no partial refund is issued for unused time or credits. On a yearly plan the current period is the full twelve months you paid for, so access and the remaining monthly credit batches continue until that year ends.
How to contact us about billing
For anything billing-related (including the operational exceptions above), email support@kiroclip.com with the subject “Billing · [your account email]”, and include your account email, your Dodo Payments transaction ID (from your receipt), and a short description. We aim to reply as soon as possible. Where a payment is approved for return, Dodo Payments processes it and it typically appears within 5-10 business days depending on your payment method.
