Interview to clips
An interview is the hardest thing to crop vertical, because the moment you frame one person you have thrown away the other. Split screen gives each of them a panel. Your first video is free.
No card required for your first video.
In a plain centre crop, usually nothing good: one speaker survives and the other becomes a shoulder at the edge. The Split template stacks a panel for each person in the vertical frame, and each panel tracks its own speaker as they shift in their seat, so a two person conversation still reads as a conversation.
In detail
This is why prepared questions produce far more usable clips per hour than free conversation does.
| Question type | Clip strength | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A direct question with one answer | Strong | The answer is self contained |
| An open invitation to talk | Weak | The answer wanders |
| A challenge | Strongest | Disagreement holds attention |
| A follow up to something said | Weak alone | It needs the previous answer |
| A question about a specific number | Strong | Concrete and quotable |
Figures here are the ongoing price. A new customer's first month of Lite 10 is $7.20, then $12/mo. One per customer, limited time.
Real clips generated from long videos. Captions and vertical reframing done automatically.
How it works
Upload the file or paste a link from YouTube, Vimeo, Zoom, Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook or X. A recorded call counts, so does a studio two camera shoot.
Each person gets a panel, stacked in the vertical frame. The AI reads the whole conversation and keeps the exchanges that stand on their own.
Vertical clips with captions burned on, where the question and the reaction are both still visible.
FAQ
With the Split template, yes. Each speaker gets their own panel in the vertical frame and each panel follows its own person, so neither one drifts out as they move.
No. Split and Gaming are paid plan templates. The free video uses the standard auto reframe, which holds whoever is speaking at the time. That still works for an interview, it just shows one person at a time.
Be realistic about that. The split layout is built for two panels, so a panel show with four guests will not divide cleanly. Auto reframe following the active speaker is usually the better choice there.
Yes, and that is the common case. A recorded call imports straight from a Zoom link, and two people on separate cameras is exactly the shape the split layout expects.
It works from what was said across the whole recording and keeps the passages that make sense without the surrounding conversation, then trims each one so it starts on the point rather than on the question being repeated.
Up to ten hours on any paid plan, and thirty minutes on the free video. A two-hour interview spends one credit on Lite 30 and two on Lite 10, with ten clips included per credit.
Bring one interview and see how it frames both people. The first video is free, no card needed.
